Song of the Week is a weekly feature where we show off the best of video game music. From the sweeping orchestra music of Nobuo Uematsu to the more somber tunes of Yoko Shimomura, prepare to have your ears delighted every week.
It’s been a while since our last Song of the Week, which was appropriately Zelda themed, given all of the hype running into E3. Now that E3 has come and gone, I’ve been searching for some music from the latest Zelda game. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find anything of a high quality.
But this isn’t a bad thing, because it gives me all the more reason to feature music from Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is about Japanese idols (an idol is basically a Japanese popstar), which means that there are plenty of toe-tapping pop songs in the game. Whilst I’m still making my way through the game, it’s quite long, I thought I’d show off one of the first pop songs in the game.
Entitled Reincarnation, this catchy pop-tune is performed by Nanjou Yoshino, a 31-year old voice-actress and singer. That’s… pretty much all I know about the music. Nintendo (or Atlus), didn’t really do a good job of connecting gamers with the real-life artists…
Anyway have a listen! If you’re not familiar with J-Pop then be prepared to be surprised. Oh yeah, this music also came with a very snazzy CG cutscene, which you can watch below. I highly suggest you do so:
