After nearly a month of intense games, the winner of the 2016 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) has been revealed.
WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!
Korean-giants SKT Gaming took the cup as they stomped North American team CLG (Counter Logic Gaming) by winning three games in row during a “Best of Five” final.
CLG had performed adamantly throughout the tournament, going head to head with some of the best teams in League of Legends. Whilst there has been a lot of drama throughout the tournament, such as European team G2 eSports taking a vacation instead of practicing for the tournament, there have also been a lot of incredible matches to watch.
My personal favorite match from the tournament is the CLG match against Chinese team RNG:
CLG were losing the match for thirty minutes, only to come back halfway through the game and completely destroy RNG (who, at the time, had been undefeated in the tournament).
It’s a shame that CLG couldn’t take the title from SKT, who have been the strongest team in League of Legends (despite numerous roster changes) for a couple of years. Nonetheless the tournament was a fantastic watch.
