Silicon Studio, the developers of Bravely Default, are teaming up with Mistwalker, the studio lead by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, to work together on new video game “titles”.
The press release shows a piece of concept art which was used to tease a console RPG version of Terra Battle, Mistwalker’s popular Free-to-Play mobile game, which Mistwalker said they would create if Terra Battle got more than two million players. Mistwalker achieved this milestone relatively quickly after Terra Battle’s launch.
Unfortunately neither company is going into detail about the game just yet.
Silicon Studios had this to say about the collaboration:
“This collaboration is, in exceptional imagination with MistWalker, a combination of technology and long-term management capabilities with the Silicon Studio, we have an object of the present invention to provide the best experience to gamers around the world. The gaming experience with innovative and new view of the world that is created by the joint development, please stay tuned.”
Hironobu Sakaguchi’s last console game was the excellent The Last Story, which was one of my favorite games of the last generation. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on this new game from the masterful story teller.
